You require the SAPCAR tool to be able to unpack and verify software component archives (.SAR files). SAR is the format of software lifecycle media and tools that you can download from the SAP Software Download Center. For more information about how to get this tool, see the Procedure section below. Get SAPCAR.EXE and put it in c: windows system32 (or any other folder that persists in the default windows paths) 2. In the same folder make a file SAPCARe.BAT with the following contents: SAPCAR.EXE -xvf%sf1. Associate SAPCAR with the SAR file extension. If the user already has one of the applications installed, the next step will be to associate it with the file extension SAR.This can be done in two ways - one is to manually edit the Windows Registry and HKEYCLASSESROOT keys. The second way is simpler and definitely recommended for less advanced users.
